The most recognizable drink with the pirates, the one that pleases the time and life of those sailors, especially those who came from the Caribbean, was and still is the rum.

Historically, it distills fermented juice from sugarcane (or molasses - honey in Hebrew - a byproduct in the sugar refining process) and hates ships, mainly British, that have damaged quite a few of the pirate attacks, Europe and the distant colonies. Originally, the rum was a pretty basic and rough drink that matched the male stereotype of the seafarers, but over the years it has evolved and boasted, and today there are those who are using advanced and outdated technology in various kinds of barrels that give the drink complex flavors and depth.

At one end of the scale is the transparent and basic rum, which is mainly used to make cocktails (the most famous of them - Mohito, Dakiri and Pina Colada). Then comes the golden rum, the color of which is usually due to the addition of a little caramel, the dark rum where the generous caramel addition gives it both color and sweet taste, and at the top is the old-fashioned and high-quality rum, whose popularity has soared in recent years to some who claim he can compete with dignity as well Cognac or fine malt single. There is also a spicy rum added to it with spices and flavors, "Agricol" - a natural rum with no additions, and more.
