The Trump administration plan, which will be presented today to Netanyahu and Gantz and will probably be published tomorrow, is likely to be the most friendly and generous program for Israel that has been in the history of political negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. While the Palestinians have not been invited to the White House at all and are expected to reject the administration's peace plan outright, in Israel it is likely to cause political turmoil given the timing of the advertising, just over a month into the election. On the other hand, Palestinian officials reported that Abu Mazen refused to talk to Trump on the plan about the details of the plan.

While Gantz is expected to tell the president that the plan should be postponed until a stable government is established in Israel, Netanyahu hopes that the government will give green light to annexing or applying sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria - the Jordan Valley or Ma'aleh Adumim, even before the elections. Netanyahu said before his departure for the United States on Tuesday that he will make a "history" with President Trump on Tuesday, and is expected to discuss with him the steps that could be taken before the election, and ask for US protection at international institutions around the moves.

A series of councils from Judea and Samaria came to Washington in parallel with Netanyahu; Head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council David Elhaini, Local Councilor Efrat Oded Ravivi, Mayor of Binyamin Israel Gantz Regional Council and Gush Etzion Shlomo Ne'aman Regional Council, as well as Samaria Regional Minister Yossi Dagan, are expected to follow closely The developments.

The details leaked so far indicate that the plan will include recognition of Israeli sovereignty in all West Bank localities and annexation of large areas of Judea and Samaria, including the Jordan Valley, and will impose difficult to impossible conditions for recognition of a Palestinian state. The plan is also expected to include Israeli concessions, such as evacuation of outposts and transfer of neighborhoods to Palestinians in East Jerusalem.

Advertising despite scheduling and external intervention

The administration has been working on the plan since the beginning of Trump's term, and has rejected it several times over the past year due to repeated elections in Israel. Ahead of the November presidential campaign in America, the government decided to publicize the plan, despite the upcoming scheduling in Israel and the external intervention on such an issue, and last week they invited Netanyahu and Gantz to meet with the president ahead of the announcement. Initially, the White House planned to hold a triple and joint meeting of Trump, Netanyahu and Gantz, but over the weekend Gantz's request was met with a separate meeting.

At the beginning of the month, when reports of preparations for the program began, he called on the White House not to publish it, saying it would be "blatant interference" in Israeli elections. The government did not like the public opposition, made it clear to Gantz that the plan would be published anyway, and advised him to change direction. And so he did. Last week, during a tour of the Jordan Valley, he urged Trump to announce the plan as soon as possible before the election. Two days later, the invitation arrived from the White House, and Netanyahu and Gantz both accepted the invitation. However, given the fear in white and blue that the Triple Summit in the White House is a trap designed to bolster Netanyahu, Gantz is holding talks with the White House, in which it was agreed that he would attend a separate meeting. This will be his first time in the White House, and a very unusual sight of a non-state politician getting a meeting in the Oval Room.
