Protests continued and roads were blocked this evening in front of the Lebanese parliament in downtown Beirut and the Central Bank of Lebanon to demand the fight against corruption and address the living, banking and financial conditions in the country.
The Lebanese National Media Agency said that dozens of protesters gathered in front of the Central Bank on Hamra Street and then went to the Finance Ministry and then to the House of Representatives, where some of them delivered speeches and statements that stressed the treatment of economic and financial problems in the country and called for an integrated financial rescue plan and the launch of a comprehensive restructuring process For external and internal public debt to be followed by long-term economic policies.
A number of protesters also gathered in front of the entrance to Al-Najmah Square in Beirut, holding banners calling for stopping thefts and holding the corrupt accountable. Other protesters blocked several roads in Beirut, while the Lebanese army worked to open some of them.
Sidon witnessed a gathering protesting the country's financial and banking policies and demanding that the corrupt be held accountable.
Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed sit-ins and demonstrations calling for an improvement in the living conditions and accountability for the corrupt.
