Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated the strong relations between Tehran and Moscow and that they are constantly developing, contrary to the desire of the American administration.
"I am confident that our relations will continue to grow despite American pressure," Rouhani said during his reception in Tehran today, the head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, noting the solidarity of the Russian government with the Iranian people against Washington's assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasim Soleimani, describing this position as very important.
Rouhani stressed that Iran is not seeking to escalate in the region, stressing that the stability of the situation in it is a matter of concern to Iran and Russia and the need for continued consultation and coordination between the two countries in this regard, noting that the agreements between Iran and Russia are being implemented "step by step".
Regarding the joint naval exercises conducted by Iran, Russia and China in the Sea of Oman recently, Rouhani considered that it is an indication that these three countries are intent on making the relations between them more close.
For his part, the head of the Russian State Duma affirmed that the relations between Tehran and Moscow are receiving attention from the heads of the two countries, pointing at the same time to the positive cooperation between Tehran and Moscow through the parliaments of the two sides, especially in enacting appropriate laws to implement the decisions of the two governments.
Valodin pointed out that during the second meeting of the joint parliamentary committee between Iran and Russia in Tehran, several issues related to bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation between the two sides were discussed.
