The real dilemma: a right-wing party cannot afford to oppose sovereignty, especially as it is a consensual place like the Hatch

Political development in Washington takes the political system to the limit. After weeks of idle debates, no immunity, no immunity, the right and the weak left, the moment has come, which disturbs most of what really matters, encapsulates the longstanding controversy within the Israeli public, and makes the upcoming elections more decisive than ever.

After raising expectations to the maximum, anything less than applying sovereignty in the Jordan Valley before the elections will be a great disappointment to Netanyahu voters. If Netanyahu thought, along with Trump, to turn the century plan into a constituent election that would bring the benefit to him - the only way to make sure that would be to get the Knesset's approval of the bill into effect in the coming weeks Any rejection, litmus, or applying lesser sovereignty - such as Ma'aleh Adumim in the heart - may turn into Netanyahu's head. Again, the expectations on the subject he himself created.

For white and blue, this is a test moment. Benny Gantz did accept the plan (and a coveted picture with the US president in the White House), but he did not commit to promoting any sovereignty before the election. The decision, as usual, cannot be made alone but in consultation with the Cockpit members, each of whom may be drawn elsewhere entirely. The dilemma is real: a party disguised as a right-wing cannot afford to oppose sovereignty, especially as it is a consensual place like the valley.

However, the views of some party members, as well as the Labor Party-affiliate and the joint Arab list - without which not only he could not be prime minister but could not even get the president's mandate without their support - are total opposition to the move. For Gantz support may be even more devastating, when the members of the joint list declare that after voting there is no difference in their terms between Netanyahu and Gantz, and at that moment his dream of becoming prime minister will disappear, probably for good.

The picture from the White House is high-quality and beautiful, but cannot hide Gantz's political inexperience, which he achieved only because of Netanyahu's insistence on sharing it in his internal and special discourse between him and the president. He had already made his fatal mistake when he brought in his strategic adviser Ronen Tzur, who underwent quite a few poisonous tweets against Trump.

To the right, too, are expectations. With all due respect to sovereignty, the fact that the plan will include a commitment to establish another Arab state in Israel will force the right-wing party to oppose the plan. But resistance, too, has its limits. There is a declarative opposition and there is opposition that will result in the government's retirement. By all estimates, the right can oppose the plan but remain in the coalition. After all, a vote in the Knesset will bring Netanyahu only the application of sovereignty, and not the entire package.

Deal with trifles

And there are those who insist on dealing with trifles when the history of the wings of history strikes with all its might. If indeed a formative move is ahead of us - all the divisive headlines and split screens will only testify to a thousand witnesses that engaging in Netanyahu has broken highs of obsession, even as real reality is changing dramatically in front of our eyes.
