A number of Syrian publishers emphasized that participation in the Cairo International Book Fair comes to emphasize the importance of the Syrian presence in all regional and international cultural forums.
The President of the Publishers Union, Haitham Hafez, explained during his visit with a delegation from the Federation, the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Cairo that Syria participates in this session of the exhibition through 95 publishing houses between an authentic participant and an agent, indicating that this participation is the strongest and most influential in the exhibition on the cultural level and in terms of sales .
Hafiz pointed out that the publishing industry in Syria is witnessing a remarkable development, especially since the Syrian publisher is working to consolidate the civilized values expressed through its publications.
The publisher Ghassan Saad El-Din indicated that the Syrian publishing houses were able to prove their presence in all forums where the Syrian cultural and intellectual product was welcomed and appreciated because of its specificity and distinctiveness.
And the publisher Ismail Al-Omar stated that the Syrian publishers are continuing to work on developing cultural and intellectual sectors to deliver the message of the Syrian people to the region and the world.
For his part, Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, the Chargé d'Affairs of the embassy, expressed his appreciation for the role of the Syrian actors, industrialists, merchants, and others who have proven their presence in all fields, pointing out that Syria was and still holds the concepts of enlightenment and works to spread it through publishing houses, owners of thought and pen.
The ambassador pointed out that Syria was subjected to all kinds of misinformation and fought against the conspiracy that targeted it to spread awareness, which failed the expiation project.
