The Arab world did not hold its breath yesterday with the release of President Trump's peace plan, usually responding with restraint or even with a thunderous silence.

But on the other hand, and the good news, no one was even furious with the plan and rejected it altogether - not the declaration of the unified Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, not the demand for recognition of the State of Israel as a Jewish state and not even the expected annexation of the settlements in Judea and Samaria. After all, most Arab countries have more important and urgent occupations than the question of the future of the Palestinians, and if they do not want to or cannot take their fate into their hands, and for the first time in their history, take responsibility for their future - no one in the Arab world intends to do so for them.

For their part, the Palestinians, as expected, decided to furiously reject the proposed American plan. They probably prefer to "live in a movie" and continue to dream of a better future, in particular the continued struggle in Israel or even international intervention, which will force Israel to give them what they want. But all this will not happen, and the whole world, except the Palestinians, already understands this.

The assumption that the continuation of the status quo serves the Palestinians or does not detract from their situation was shattered yesterday, but because of the weakness of the company and the Palestinian leadership, they do not draw the necessary conclusions and accept Trump's proposal.

And so, instead of recognizing reality, they should not be offered a better plan than the Trump plan, and especially instead of rolling up their sleeves and starting to work at home on building a prosperous society and economy, thereby trying to extract the Palestinian wagon from its mud that has been submerged for decades - Palestinians prefer to miss every opportunity Shankar on their way.

Trump yesterday proposed a far-flung program as far east of the West from the Palestinian dreams. But it is a realistic and practical plan that addresses all the problems that previously prevented a peace agreement from being reached. Its great advantage is that unlike the past, this program is not a guarantee of the weakness or whims of the Palestinians, and Israel and the United States will be able to implement it, in whole or in part, by themselves. This is an important achievement for Israel, and 2020 may be remembered in the future as we now remember 1948 and 1967. .
