About 300 people gathered in the Harod spring in the Jezreel Valley last Friday, after a near-underground social media flyer called on people to come and go together. The "Just Walk - With One Trail" venture was born to a group of friends, some from the Valley and others from various parts of the country and from diverse populations who decided to take action and try to bring public light back to the public, renew the confidence and connection between sectors and overcome polarization through conversation, partnership and meeting.

Yuval Levita of Pardes Hanna, one of the initiators of the move, admits he is slightly apprehensive about this interview for the reason that "they just go by their name," he says. "This venture is clean and the last thing we want it to happen is to paint with colors of agendas or interests. We live in an era where suspicion is very high. We try to create a shared space of trust and closeness while looking each other in the eye. The idea is to clear the air and atmosphere, to purify The same cynicism, fears, condescension, and allowing different people from diverse human landscapes to simply meet and identify a common human denomination. An expanding circle of friends

What do you think has made our society so cynical?
"I do not like to talk about society, but I can call my world. I believe that one can learn about the general social issues, from the knowledge of what is going on about the individual. When I look for the cynicism and suspicion that exists in me, I find that they sit on fears and insecurities about self When the personal place has not yet reached personal fulfillment and formulation, compensation comes as it is intended to protect the lost. When a person truly feels his place, he is able to meet with others without being threatened. He feels no need to persuade or persuade. Of contact and discourse that characterizes survival. I myself was born in the valley and repented in adulthood. Mine are Ein Harod, were and remain secular, and in this complexity we have a respectful and loving close relationship. Mother was with me on the march and Dad at the same time was in the field next to sowing hummus, waving his hand from the tractor. In my view this is how life can look, with the ability to carry the opposite and complexity , Without threatening the connection but only deepening and empowering it. "

Who's behind the venture with you?
"We are a growing circle of friends that meet throughout the year. We come from different places and communities, with the common denominator being the love of the people, with Israel and the Land of Israel. We are now going for the third election in a year. The tremendous polarity created by the situation is very painful and unfortunate. Society in Israel has always been divided In her opinion, but this time we are talking about something else. Discourse has long gone from the boundaries of substantive matters to personal-war discourse. All this fuels the suspicion, distrust and separation. "

Petitions are not the way

Why march?
"Because we have come to the conclusion that another conference or petition is not the way. It is better to meet and just walk in and breathe the air, nature and the people around us and thus the discourse is taking place on its own. We are planning a few more similar steps when the idea is to come to Jerusalem for the elections. And more people. At the same time, the number of people is not a factor. We are proactive but we have no responsibility for the outcome. We have a responsibility and a moral obligation to create the platform for the meeting. "

Who came to the march?
"We were about 300 people and a woman some of whom came from afar. The common denominator for everyone who came was the realization that unity and personal connections were of the highest value. I suppose if we went out to the media, many more people would come, but we felt it would be a big leap and too fast. It was a rainy day and I I was very excited that people were coming anyway. An older duo from Gush Etzion arrived who happened to see the Pleyer and decided to come in. I just imagine what time they had to leave the house to be in the valley at 8:30 AM. A guy from Kish Kish arrived and he could see a group of guys from a yeshiva. "Heavenly Land" in Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, not far from them was an ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Slonim and Walid Old Druze man who showed me a picture of his son, a former chief of staff Eisencott. There were a lot of guys from the kibbutzim around, Beit Hashita and Ein Harod. We ended up at Kibbutz Ein Harod basketball court. Yehudit Peled from the system carried things and so did I. We invited Amos, the house singer of Ein Harod. We didn't tell him what to sing. He himself, the dear kibbutznik, began with the Sabbath songs. And so it is simply cold and something wonderful and exciting, joyful and mostly simple. This is a preliminary move that gives lots of power to continue and especially hope. We invite you to come and just walk with us in the next steps. "
