About 300 people gathered in the Harod spring in the Jezreel Valley last Friday, after a near-underground social media flyer called on people to come and go together. The "Just Walk - With One Trail" venture was born to a group of friends, some from the Valley and others from various parts of the country and from diverse populations who decided to take action and try to bring public light back to the public, renew the confidence and connection between sectors and overcome polarization through conversation, partnership and meeting.
Yuval Levita of Pardes Hanna, one of the initiators of the move, admits he is slightly apprehensive about this interview for the reason that "they just go by their name," he says. "We are a growing circle of friends that meet throughout the year. Petitions are not the way
Why march?
"Because we have come to the conclusion that another conference or petition is not the way. It is better to meet and just walk in and breathe the air, nature and the people around us and thus the discourse is taking place on its own. We are planning a few more similar steps when the idea is to come to Jerusalem for the elections. And more people. At the same time, the number of people is not a factor. We are proactive but we have no responsibility for the outcome. We have a responsibility and a moral obligation to create the platform for the meeting. "
Who came to the march?
"We were about 300 people and a woman some of whom came from afar. The common denominator for everyone who came was the realization that unity and personal connections were of the highest value. I suppose if we went out to the media, many more people would come, but we felt it would be a big leap and too fast. It was a rainy day and I I was very excited that people were coming anyway.
