President Bashar al-Assad chaired a meeting today that included Eng. Imad Khamis, Prime Minister and a number of ministers, on the stages of implementing the national project for administrative reform and what has been achieved in this regard.
At the beginning of the meeting, the final version of the financial disclosure law was discussed, which will be presented in the Cabinet of Ministers in preparation for its approval because of the positive impact of this law in establishing principles of integrity, equality and institutional transparency in order to achieve corruption prevention, reduce illicit earning and protect public money.
The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, Local Administration and the Environment, Engineer Hussein Makhlouf, presented the new organizational structure of their ministries, which dealt with the problems of the inflated administrative structures in the old structures and the results of the evaluation that took place for workers in the central departments and the resulting qualification and training courses to raise the quality and efficiency of work and achieve Optimizing the available human resources.
President al-Assad directed to start applying the preparatory stage for the administrative reform project in the rest of the ministries simultaneously according to the steps that were implemented in the three ministries and work on a number of key points that raise the quality of work efficiency in public agencies and achieve the best investment for the human cadres in these agencies that will be joined In the future, one of these points is setting fair standards for conducting competitions after developing a map of human resources, job vacancies and job descriptions by the public authority and reducing the number of ministerial assistants in parallel with the reduction of inflated administrative structures, especially support directorates Administrative, which leads to slack institutions and increases spending and waste and address the imbalance in the numerical staff of ministries based on the analysis of the workforce.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Health, Social Affairs and Labor, the Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.
