To adapt to the sustainable trend that is spreading over technology, Case-Mate has partnered with The Nature Conservancy to create a series of eco-friendly cases for iPhone cell phones, compatible from iPhone X to iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The covers, appropriately called Eco94 ($ 40; casemate.com), use recycled plastic or plastic alternatives .
Many of the objects we use every day are made of plastic and once we finish using them, we throw them away without thinking twice. To help alleviate this waste, companies are taking it into their hands to find sustainable solutions.
Case-Mate Eco94 covers are a great example. These covers are equipped with fall protection of up to 10 feet, ready for wireless charging and come in a packaging made of 100% recycled paper that does not contain plastic.
Two of the Eco94 recycled recycled cell phone cases ($ 40; casemate.com) are made of 60% post-consumer recycled plastics and come in two designs: one with colorful backgrounds and one with ecological messages. Used plastics come from the automotive industry, and the covers are in turn fully recyclable.
The Eco94 Eco-Clear ($ 40; casemate.com) is made of corn-derived materials , with a manufacturing process that produces a smaller carbon footprint than the traditional creation of petroleum-based plastic sleeves. In addition, it is also 100% recyclable.
Case-Mate's Eco94 Biodegradable phone case ($ 40; casemate.com), which comes out in March, is made of plant-based bioplastics, making it 100% biodegradable . Case-Mate clarifies that while the biodegradable case is compostable and leaves no toxic material, composting requires specific conditions that are generally only available in industrial composting facilities. But if there is no composting facility nearby, there is no need to worry, since it is also 100% recyclable .
