Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, affirmed that the economic terrorism practiced by Western countries against Syria is complementary to the terrorist organizations listed on the Security Council's list of terrorist entities.
Al-Jaafari said during a session of the Security Council: We are surprised by the silence of some officials of the international organization regarding the suffering of the Syrians due to terrorism, aggression, unilateral economic coercive measures and the practices of the occupation forces.
Al-Jaafari said that the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" ignored in 64 reports and hundreds of briefings the coercive economic measures that affect the lives of millions of Syrians.
