Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, reiterated that restoring complete security and stability to Syria requires addressing the existing basic terrorist challenges, noting that some countries are trying to disrupt the operations of the Syrian Arab Army against terrorism in Idlib and Aleppo, with the aim of raising the morale of terrorists.
Al-Jaafari said during a session of the Security Council today on the political situation in Syria that the terrorist organization Al-Nusra Front is the arm of al-Qaeda in Syria and its associated terrorist entities, which includes tens of thousands of foreign terrorists and controls most of Idlib governorate and continues its attacks on neighboring areas and on the sites of the Syrian Arab Army. Al-Jaafari stressed that some countries continue to use all the internationally prohibited "weapons of lies" and repeat the same intrusive actions to destabilize the security and stability of the countries of the Middle East region instead of reviewing their actions and stances and reforming their policies, pointing out that what is worse than this is that some people continue to misuse his actions, sometimes he tries to persuade us rightly His positions lacking wisdom or the validity of his short-sighted policies that only brought havoc and devastation to our countries and peoples and a stage seeking to absolve himself of the consequences of his policies, so he pours most of his criticism of others.
However, the pure truth that cannot be obscured is that the accumulation of some of these great sins, old and new in our region, has brought to our peoples bitter disasters, bloody conflicts, instability and an absence of development.
Al-Jaafari indicated that the American administration's announcement yesterday of the items of the so-called "deal of the century" is a unilateral act and aggression against the United Nations itself, an unparalleled disregard for its decisions related to the Palestinian issue, a miserable attempt by Washington to draw a new colonial scheme for our region and a repeat of the crime committed by Britain more than two years ago. One hundred years, represented by the fateful Balfour promise in the service of the Israeli occupation and its aggressive expansionist plans at the expense of Arab rights and interests in a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter and its reference resolutions that all emphasized the need to end the Israeli occupation of The occupied Arab lands, including the occupied Syrian Golan, withdraw from them until the line of the fourth of June 1967, and stop settlement activity and consider it illegal, asking: How can the US policy be trusted in any file in the Security Council or be entrusted with the maintenance of international peace and security.
Al-Jaafari stressed that the Syrian message is a message of peace from the position of strength and not from the position of weakness, and it firmly believes in the principle of equality in sovereignty between states and is based in its policies on it, which is the principle affirmed by the founders of the United Nations, stressing that it is upon those who think to repeat what he did in our region after The First World War and the Second World War are the certainty that his plan will fail and will be overthrown by the will of the Syrian people.
