Parisian decision? Or national decision? The MoDem gave its support Tuesday evening to Benjamin Griveaux, the head of list LREM in Paris, judging its list "most able to gather".
While according to information from the Parisian, the party of the presidential majority should, this Wednesday evening, support the list of the outgoing MoDem mayor of Biarritz, Michel Veunac, on which appears the Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, facing Didier Guillaume , another member of the government team, and at the same time as excluding Cédric Villani from its ranks, the Parisian centrists, on Monday again, procrastinated. Griveaux or Villani for Paris?
The two would have been the ideal scenario for MoDem elected officials from the Paris Council such as Maud Gatel, the president, Yann Wehrling and Marielle de Sarnez. The MoDem “would have liked this rally for change to be necessary, among the majority and beyond, during these months of pre-campaign. It was not possible. The urgency however commands to resume this movement ”, declared the party in a press release. Who insists: "Gathered, victory is possible. Divided, defeat is assured ”.
In 2014, Marielle de Sarnez and her friends supported UMP candidate Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet in the first round. 18 out of 21 MoDem cities have already been invested by LREM.
