Russian news agency Tass confirmed Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed Naomi Issachar's pardon request, the Israeli young woman reinforced in Russian prison after being convicted of smuggling a few cannabis into the country.
Yesterday the Moscow governor approved the pardon request, and Putin's official approval is the final step in the process. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leaving for Moscow this evening and is expected to meet with the Russian president at the Kremlin tomorrow. It is still unclear whether Issachar will return to Israel on Netanyahu's plane.
