Yu Huiming, chairman of the HA's staff front, said that up to now, 6,700 HA staff have promised to strike. She criticized that a statement had been issued as early as January 26, urging the Hospital Authority to respond to the "five major demands" made by the union, but the Hospital Authority has not responded to any of the demands so far, but has responded with an evasion. She went on to point out that there were more than 10 confirmed cases, and yesterday was the first case of human-to-human transmission, describing the outbreak in the community.

She also criticized that patients repeatedly refused to be quarantined and made false reports, and the current self-quarantine mechanism could not stop the source at all. She took the confirmed case of Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday as an example. Due to the concealment of the patient, the medical ward stayed for 6 days, putting the patient and medical care in that room in a dangerous situation. She pointed out that tomorrow (February 1) a special membership meeting would be held to decide on industrial action, "I absolutely hope that the strike will be charged, and that the government will not force the medical care into desperation."
