Former US President Jimmy Carter affirmed that the so-called "Deal of the Century" recently announced by President Donald Trump violates international law relating to self-determination, the forcible acquisition of territories and the annexation of occupied territories.
Carter said in a statement today, according to Agence France-Presse: "The new American plan undermines the talks between (Israel) and the Palestinians, and if implemented, it will destroy the two-state solution."
In his statement, Carter stressed the need for member states of the United Nations to abide by relevant Security Council resolutions and reject any unilateral Israeli action to annex more occupied Palestinian territories or deny the rights of the Palestinian people.
Trump announced last Tuesday, in a blatant violation of international resolutions, the terms of the so-called "deal of the century" aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people.
