He was reportedly hospitalized at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and waiting for a test report. He also urged in his post to pay attention to those visiting prisoners at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre.
The Correctional Services Department replied that a 62-year-old person in custody at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre yesterday had fever and suspected pneumonia, and disclosed to correctional officers that he had visited a Mainland hospital before remand. The institution has notified the Center for Health Protection of the case and will transfer the remand person to a public hospital for examination and treatment. The Correctional Services Department stated that other persons in custody who had been in close contact with the remand person in custody are now under quarantine observation. The institution has also taken appropriate precautionary measures and strengthened cleaning and disinfection as recommended by the doctor.
