(CNN Spanish) - Former cabinet chief and representative of former President Evo Morales, Patricia Hermosa, was arrested this Friday in Bolivia by the Special Force to Fight Crime (FALCC), as confirmed by the director of that unit, Iván Rojas. Rojas said that the apprehension takes place within the framework of an investigation carried out by the Prosecutor's Office for Hermosa for terrorism and sedition.

For his part, Martín Irusta, a lawyer for Hermosa, said that the defense "will make the technical evaluation of the resolution of apprehension," according to the ABI news agency.

Former President Evo Morales also described the arrest as illegal through his Twitter account.

“I denounce before the international community the illegal detention of my attorney Patricia Hermosa, responsible for carrying out the procedures for my nomination as an assemblyman and the kidnapping of all my personal documentation, such as my military service book,” Morales said.
