Three people were killed and two others were wounded by gunfire in an apartment in downtown Toronto, Canada's economic capital.
"Three people were shot dead and a fourth was wounded, while a fifth was wounded by a white weapon, and his life is not in danger," the Canadian Press quoted Canadian police as saying.
The Toronto police chief asked everyone who witnessed the incident to testify and contact the police to uncover the circumstances.
In 2019, Toronto witnessed 490 shootings that left 44 people dead, according to police figures.
