The prosecutor's office on Sunday asked the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court to cut three to nine months of service on journalist Sapir Nissani, who was convicted of causing death with negligence of terror. During the discussion, Nissani said: "I carry with me daily feelings of guilt and self-aggrandizement over what happened."
The prosecutor said in the hearing: "We put a great deal of weight into the tragic circumstances of the defendant, as it is a death toll. ".

Nissani was convicted of negligent manslaughter after rejecting her request to dismiss the indictment against her for a defense of justice claim. Nissani pleaded that since it was a death toll, there was no basis for indictment against her, and that she and her sisters had a tragedy over the death of her mother and therefore the indictment should be canceled. As stated, Judge Danieli rejected the motion and convicted her.

According to the indictment, in 2016 Nissani went into the mother's room overnight with a pot containing boiling oil to take spices into the dish she prepared. She did not turn on the light so as not to wake the mother, stumbled and spilled her frightening oil.
The mother was evacuated in serious condition to the hospital and after about two months passed away due to her serious injuries. In May 2018, Nissani admitted to the facts in the indictment but claimed her mother did not die due to boiling oil but due to hospital negligence. The court did not accept this claim either.
