Miracle in Hebron: Molotov cocktails were thrown at IDF force, and one hit a soldier whose uniform was on fire • His friends helped to extinguish the fire and the event ended peacefully

The war in Hebron is considered to be one of the most difficult and difficult for IDF fighters, and documentation released Sunday illustrates the challenges of the sector, which focus primarily on built-in warfare and daily contact with a hostile civilian population.

The documentation shows a soldier who was hit by a Molotov cocktail thrown at him, causing his clothes to catch fire. Miraculously, the soldier survived and avoided disaster, probably thanks to his friends' assistance and a quick response to the incendiary material.

Two months ago, Defense Minister Naphtali Bennett ordered the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Occupied Territories and the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria to notify the Hebron municipality of planning a new Jewish neighborhood in the wholesale market complex. After many years, the issue was stuck because of a dispute between the residents of the Jewish community and the residents of the Palestinian Hebron.

Documentation: Fighters in Hebron

According to the plan, another Jewish neighborhood planning process will begin that will create a territorial continuum - from the Cave of the Patriarchs to the Avraham Avinu neighborhood, thus doubling the number of Jewish residents in the city. In addition, the market buildings will be demolished as part of the "evacuation-construction" and new stores will be built in their place. The rights of Palestinians on the ground floor will be preserved as they are today.

The wholesale market areas in Hebron were Jewish-owned until 1929, with the outbreak of the 1910s. The lands abandoned following the events were transferred to the King of Jordan and returned to Israel in 1967. Israel allowed the Hebron municipality to build a wholesale market that was active until the mid-1990s.
