Route 4 was blocked for traffic Monday following a rally of ultra-Orthodox protesters protesting against the arrest of a yeshiva student who did not appear at the recruitment bureau. The road was blocked for traffic from a licensed interchange to a field champion, in both directions, and police advised road users to avoid reaching these areas and to use alternative roads. At least some protesters were arrested.

Following the demonstration, traffic congestion is felt on the nearby roads - on all the descents to Highway Four, on Jabotinsky Street in Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan, and on the Moshavim, Hashomer and Ben Cousin Streets. "The police are deployed on the central roads and carry out traffic guidance and traffic congestion as far as possible," the police said.

The police also said that "it will allow the exercise of freedom of expression, but will not allow harm to the fabric of life. The police will not allow any breach of order and act resolutely against violators of order and against anyone who acts violently of any kind."
