Understanding that there are Israeli citizens whose center of life is out of the country, and that for many, the expectation that their children will come to Israel for full military service while living abroad is not feasible, a special status law has been provided that allows these young men and women to postpone the duty of service as long as there is no change Under the conditions that earned them this status.

Exceptions to the class

Military commands define the conditions for obtaining the status, but leave the competent bodies discretionary in more complex cases, which go beyond the command language. As part of the conditions, the time periods allowed to visit the country are defined, allowing up to 120 days of stay in each calendar year, one-year residency and even high school or academic studies, under certain conditions.

When the specified stay time is expected to be exceeded, it is recommended that you apply in advance for approval of the exception through a military lawyer, in order not to reach a position where the status will be canceled due to non-compliance and the recruitment obligation will take effect.
