In another gesture towards who Alberto Fernández's representative will be in the United States, Donald Trump will receive in person the credentials of Jorge Argüello , in the oval room of the White House, this Thursday.

The initial appointment with the US president was for March 10. But Trump decided to receive it before with the group of foreign ambassadors who were also recently accredited in the US capital.

The appointment will take place one day after the Senate Agreement Commission deals with the specifications of the political ambassadors appointed by Alberto Fernández. Among them the one of Argüello - that will not be present because it will be in Washington - that of Alberto Iribarne to Uruguay; that of Rafael Bielsa to Chile, Chacho Alvarez to Peru, and that of Daniel Scioli to Brazil, who on Monday 3 will have several meetings with businessmen precisely in São Paulo.

Last week we already began to see that there were different movements with Argüello procedures. A presidential decree last Wednesday made it official "in commission" in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, an official of the Category "A" Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary "of" in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of the Law of the National Foreign Service. He was the only ambassador with a published appointment. Argüello needed ten businessmen in Washington to present his credentials to the president. He did not comply, but they allowed him to do his paperwork before the State Department between Monday and Wednesday of this week.

Trump had already had another signal for Fernández and Argüello . He granted Argüello's style placet in record time , on Tuesday, January 7, 20 days after the Foreign Ministry requested it. Argüello was already an ambassador to the United States between 2011 and 2013 - until he was displaced by orders from the controversial former secretary of commerce Guillermo Moreno and sent as ambassador to Portugal -, and was also a representative to the United Nations mission between 2007 and 2011.

Diplomatic sources in Buenos Aires confirmed that Argüello is already installed in Washington with his new team made up of diplomat Adrián Nador as business manager, that is his second; and Ambassador Eduardo Tempone, whom he took especially as a G20 subsherpa - which will take place this year in the United States. Fernández gave Argüello several coordinations in addition to the embassy: among them that of being his sherpa in the G20 and coordinating policies with the IMF, the World Bank and the IDB.

Everything shows that, in need of support in the negotiations for the debt with the multilateral organizations and the economic situation, Fernández seeks to play strong and in alliance with the United States, despite his differences on how to relate to the Nicolás Maduro regime and with Evo Morales, refugee in Argentina.

There was another done this week. The Chamber of Deputies gave permission for the entry into the Argentine waters of an American aircraft carrier with 5,000 marines who along with 130 Argentine military will participate in the Combined Aircraft Training Exercise at Sea, which was called Gringo Gaucho. That kind of exercise and security cooperation had been deactivated during Cristina Kirchner's management and reactivated by Mauricio Macri's management after a time of paralysis.
