18 engineers in government hospitals and health corporations earn an average of NIS 109,093 - according to a report on public service and defense spending salaries for 2018, released Tuesday by the Treasury Departmental Commissioner, Kobe Bar Nathan. In addition, 1,582 doctors earn an average of NIS 102,321. According to the report, over the past decade, wages per employee have risen by 37% in government offices, and by 44% in the government health system, while the overall index has risen by only 10%. This means that 67% of workers employed in collective agreements are in a labor dispute, even though the average wage of civil servants is higher than the average wage in the economy and their pension conditions are significantly higher.
