"Aliens exist, there is no doubt about it. There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of life forms , ”she said in the interview. Sharman is certain that there are no two opinions.
These life forms should not necessarily consist of carbon and nitrogen like we humans and animals of the earth. It is therefore possible that they have long been on Earth - "and we simply cannot see them," the chemist speculates. For example, researchers think that life based on silicon is theoretically conceivable.
Helen Sharmann, who took part in a mission to the Mir space station in 1991, was the first astronaut from Great Britain in space. She now works for television and as a lecturer at Imperial College in London.
