The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Atef Al-Naddaf, and the secretary of the Committee for the Development of Economic Relations between Iran and Syria, Adviser to the First Vice-President Hassan Dana’i, discussed ways to enhance and develop economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries.
The discussion focused on the reality of the projects agreed to be implemented in Syria, particularly with regard to building mills, rehabilitating and restoring some of them, and expanding the exchange of food commodities between the two countries.
In turn, Danaie noted that he has deeply escaped the existing cooperation relations with Syria and the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army, stressing his country's keenness to implement the projects that Syria needs and cover the market needs of goods, food and consumer goods in it.
For his part, Engineer Jaafar Shivazi, director of the Iranian Machine Company, said that among the members of the economic delegation, his company is keen to implement the four mills agreed to happen using the latest technologies and raise its level in terms of production capacity and quality of product specifications, pointing to raising the production capacity of the milling mill of the mother of olives in Suwaida to 350 tons per day .
Shivazi expressed the company’s readiness to establish a private mill in Syria with the construction of a central workshop as a laboratory for securing replacement parts, spare parts and maintenance work for all mills in Syria and the neighboring countries.
The meeting was attended by the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, Jawad Turk Turki, and director of the Syrian Grains Foundation, Youssef Qassem.
