James Bond, 007 shades of Swatch

2020-02-05T13:25:09.755Z

NEW - A few weeks before the release of Mourir can wait, Swatch unveils a capsule collection inspired by original posters. But not only…

On the wrist of James Bond, there is an Omega watch, and this since the movie GoldenEye, in 1995. But on the wrist of Q, in the next Not Time To Die , the 25th feature film of 007 and the last appearance of Daniel Craig in the shoes of the mythical spy imagined by Ian Fleming, it is a Swatch that we can see. A worrying choice, when we remember that, in the past, Nicolas G. Hayek had said that if the Omega were made for 007, the bad guys preferred the Swatch ... Q would he have changed sides? Answer on April 2.

In the meantime, Swatch has just presented a new collection of watches dedicated not to Bond's enemies, but to his adventures. For this capsule collection including six models, the launch of which is scheduled for February 20, 2020, the watchmaker was inspired by the original posters and opening sequences of James Bond 007 against Dr. No (1962), Au service secret by His Majesty (1969), Moonraker (1979), Permis de killed (1989), Le monde ne Sufficient (1999) and Casino Royale (2006). We love the little space shuttle on the Moonraker dial like the green carpet atmosphere of the Casino Royale . The icing on the vintage cake: the presentation of watches in VHS cassette cases ...

A seventh creation from this 007 collection should follow soon: a piece created with the costume designer of the movie Mourir Can Wait, Suttirat Anne Larlab for Q, the creator of James Bond gadgets.

It is not the first time, far from it, that Swatch has paid tribute to Agent 007, and many of the watches produced today have become collectors. In 2002, a special suitcase contained 20 watches for the 40th anniversary of the franchise. In 2008, Swatch did it again, but this time with a collection limited to 222 copies of 22 creations, each devoted to a specific villain.
