The average civil service salary in 2018 was NIS 16,623. This represents 36% of the average wage of all employees, according to the Ministry of Finance, and 60% of the average wage in the economy in the surveyed period, according to CBS data.

The rate of wage increases for civil servants is also particularly high - 33% -45% in the last decade, according to the various sectors, this is the decade when inflation rates in Israel and the world are drowsy.

In fact, we built a real gold cage, where we imprison good workers. Recently posted about police officers requesting early retirement and the system refuses to respond to their request, for obvious reasons. It is not only the police who are concerned about managers approving the retirement of employees lest the matter be utilized for a structural change that would disadvantage an employee.

In the education system the matter is much more tangible - teachers, whose work is particularly erosive, find themselves imprisoned in the role and count days for their retirement. We pay for the upkeep of this anachronistic system, including productivity.

Employees who are at their workplace only under an agreement are not efficient employees. The rate of increase in wages indicates that this situation is unsustainable and if we do not work for efficiency, it will be imposed on us.
