According to an email sent to medical students by the School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong, the Department of Health mainly recruits medical students in grades 5 and 6 as hotline volunteers. As the government announced earlier that any mainland immigrants will be forced to be quarantined for 14 days from tomorrow, a lot of medical surveillance will be required. The email stated that the hotline work will begin on Sunday (9th). The volunteers will call the quarantined people to check whether they have followed the instructions and provided health assessments and recommendations. The daily working hours are from 9 am to 10 pm. There are two changes every eight hours.

As for the Open University School of Nursing and Health, the same e-mail also stated that the recruitment of fourth and fifth grade nurse students as volunteers of the Department of Health's hotline will be guided by the staff of the Centre for Health Protection and masks will also be provided. Can be counted as internship hours.
