The Chinese National Health Commission announced today that the death toll from the Coruna virus has risen to 636 and the total number of infections has reached 31,161 nationwide.
The committee said, according to Xinhua news agency, that it had received reports of 3143 new confirmed cases of the new corona virus, 73 deaths yesterday from 31 regions, including 69 cases in Hubei Province, and one death in each of Jilin, Henan, Guangdong and Hainan provinces.
The committee added, “4,821 patients are still in critical condition, and 26,359 people are suspected to be infected with the virus. A total of 1540 people have been discharged from hospital upon recovery.” There are 186045 other people under medical observation.
Last night, 24 confirmed cases were reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, including 1 death, 10 in the Macao Special Administrative Region and 16 cases in Taiwan Province.
The health authorities in China announced last night 563 people have died and 28,018 cases infected with the Corona virus.
