The Benediktbeuern monastery shop is open again and literally shines in new splendor thanks to new lighting technology.
Benediktbeuern - Just in time for the Don Bosco festival in the Benediktbeuern monastery, the monastery shop opened its gates again after a three-week break. The employees recently had some special and night shifts after the new installations were completed on schedule, and they did it, according to a press release from the monastery.
The Benediktbeuern monastery shop is open again and literally shines in new splendor thanks to new lighting technology. The new, pleasant light illuminates the also new, more modern and at the same time space-saving shelving systems - the monastery shop has now optimally used its cramped space and even offers some more spacious open spaces.
100,000 euros invested in renovating the monastery shop
Monastery shop manager Simone Spohr puts the costs at 100,000 euros. But this investment was worth it, also for the domestic craft that carried out the installation work, but above all for the store itself, which can now expand its range and not only make it more attractive for all customer groups.
Of course, the reopening has to be celebrated properly, says Spohr. That was not the case at the Don Bosco Festival: “Silent Opening” - that's what the monastery shop manager calls it. But the last weekend in February was not long in coming, and on Friday, February 28, Bishop Stefan Oster from Passau came to the baroque hall of the monastery for a reading from his new book Credo (beginning at 7 p.m.) organized by the monastery shop , The following day (Saturday, February 29) the bishop will bless the premises of the monastery shop. And not that that is all: At the reopening on Saturday morning from 10 a.m., a magician duo will also conjure up little guests, and the new edition of the Benediktbeurer song book God for You (th) will be officially presented to the public. tk
