Dortmund - Cathy Hummels had to give her Labrador bitch Coco with family care with a heavy heart. The dpa said the 32-year-old wife of Mats Hummels : "Our dog actually lives with my sister. Ludwig has an allergy to dogs and also asthma. It is therefore very difficult. Unfortunately, it is not nice, but what should I do." The gala told her about the circumstances in life with her son's illness: "We always have to have two different sprays at hand and have often been to the hospital with him."

Cathy Hummels may have passed the disease on to her son because she used to suffer from asthma herself, as the gala reported in an earlier interview: "I used to have asthma , almost died of it when I was six." Her experience helps her to deal with Ludwig's illness: "The good thing is: Because of my own medical history, I know how to deal with it to some extent. But it is not nice to see your own child suffering."
