The silent march, which started around 3 p.m. in front of the hotel run by the victim's mother, went up the Cours Paoli to finish in front of the town hall, where this 39-year-old man sat on the municipal council. The procession was led by fifteen children from schools in the city. All of them held a red rose in one hand, and in the other a small sign with a photo of the deceased, sunglasses and white shirt, sitting facing the sea. Behind them, a banner was carried by the members of one of the two collectives at the origin of this walk, with the mention “ per a vita ” (for life).
On the forecourt of the town hall, the mother of the deceased, Michaela Sindali, lit a candle. Then the procession broke up, without speaking. Following this tragedy, on January 28 in the early hours of the day, in a nightclub in Corte, an investigation was opened for murder and entrusted to an investigating judge of the Bastia court. However, no suspect has yet been arrested.

At a press conference on Thursday, the victim's mother explained that she had filed a complaint against two people, after the confidences of several witnesses who have not yet appeared with the investigators. Barthélémy Casanova was only known to the authorities for a traffic violation. Nothing has yet shown that his death would be a settling of accounts or a revenge related to business or politics.
