Two days after the shooting attack at the U-turn near the Dolev in Benjamin, the hunt for the terrorist who opened fire at Kfir Brigade fighters stationed at the scene is still continuing. Military officials in Judea and Samaria said the hunt "has not yet moved to the intelligence level" and that the scans are still underway.

Hours after the incident, it was decided that the commander of the Ephraim Brigade, Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin, would establish a special police force and lead the hunt for the terrorist who managed to escape. The police force was established with the assistance of intelligence agencies of the Central Command, the IDF and the Shin Bet.

Following the incident, elite units were placed at a high level of alertness to the possibility that they would have to raid a building to make his arrest. According to military officials, a thorough investigation was carried out in the area to assess what the terrorist's escape routes were, which he estimated acted alone and knew the area well.

According to the factors, the terrorist who carried out the attack during which one of the soldiers was lightly wounded, apparently lived in one of the nearby villages, and therefore may have fled to another area. Therefore, the hunt followed is conducted in several sectors simultaneously. At this point, there is a fear that, until identified by security forces, the terrorist will carry out another attack. This concern is growing in light of the possibility that the terrorist is part of a larger terrorist infrastructure and that there are others like him who are waiting for the order to act.
