[Wuhan Pneumonia] Nine people ran out of compulsory quarantine order

The condition of Wuhan pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus continues. Hong Kong has implemented a compulsory quarantine order since last Saturday (8th). All persons entering Hong Kong from the Mainland must be isolated from their homes for 14 days at home. The Secretary for Food and Health, Chen Zhaoshi, today (10) explained the latest situation, saying that on the third day after the quarantine order came into effect, a total of 1193 people needed to be quarantined, and more than nine adults were quarantined at home. The agency has requested 516 people to share surveillance in real time, and 679 people were contacted by phone for a total of 448 video calls. In addition, the police conducted 167 surprise inspections and found that 9 people had not stayed in the premises for 24 hours. Seven of them have been contacted by the police, but the remaining 2 were unknown and the police have issued a warrant.

167 raids on 9 people not in the premises

Chen Zhaoshi said that in the three days since the compulsory quarantine order came into effect, a total of 1193 people need to be quarantined, of which 1,066 Hong Kong people, more than nine adults are to be quarantined at home, 35 people are living in hotels, and 20 Hong Kong residents have been placed in quarantine camps. She also said that the Government Information Technology Office would use real-time location sharing to ensure that the quarantined person remained at the designated premises. The Department had conducted real-time location sharing monitoring with 516 quarantine persons; telephoned 679 quarantine persons; and conducted 448 video calls. The hotline of the Department of Health and the Home Affairs Department received 278 enquiries.
