Landsham - The Landsham gravel plant in Ebenhöh wants to make the long-planned jump over the interception ditch and in future also mine gravel north of it. The area has already been entered and approved in the Munich regional plan, and the 16.7 hectare area (corresponds to around 23 soccer fields) is currently used for agriculture. According to the gravel works, the mining will take place on approximately 15.4 hectares and take about twelve years, the administration now announced in the construction committee meeting of the local council. The dismantling volume is around three million cubic meters, and the distance to the closest residential area is around 300 meters.

Landsham: mining area as large as 23 soccer fields

As with other areas in the past, Ebenhöh plans to renaturate the new, future mining area after the exploitation. Including landscape lake, which should be open to the public. Three years are estimated for the restoration measures after the twelve years of dismantling.

Gravel mining over twelve years

So much for the theory. In practice, the building committee has now rejected the project - because it could not do anything else, as building manager Martin Schmidt-Roschow explains afterwards. Reason: The development of the envisaged area is not yet legally guaranteed. Because the paths for access and exits are privately owned, the gravel works has to register a security in the land registry that it may use the paths, explains Schmidt-Roschow. The planned development of the new gravel quarry is to take place over existing bridges over the interception ditch. However, an OMV mineral oil pipeline would be crossed here.

Another problem: an OMV mineral oil line

Basically, the municipality of Pliening (namely: the construction committee) has nothing against the planned further gravel mining. It suggests that the work be limited to Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Just as the Ebenhöh company is already practicing. Only the development is problematic, says building manager Martin Schmidt-Roschow.

Pliening: Gravel quarrying on February 20, topic in the municipal council

The decisions of the building committee are recommendations to the local council. He will deal with the topic in his public meeting on February 20 - and will make final decisions. "The Ebenhöh company knows this date," says Schmidt-Roschow. Until then, the company had the time and opportunity to submit new documents or agreements, which could then be discussed and voted on in the municipal council meeting.

Speaking of local politics: Here you can read how Pliening is changing from a village to a suburb of the capital.
