Today's government economic team meeting with business and business activities in the governorates focused on mechanisms to enhance coordination and continuous communication between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and government economic institutions to secure the basic needs of citizens and the flow of consumer goods in sufficient quantities and appropriate prices and develop the business sector to exercise its role at the national and economic level.

During the meeting that was held under the chairmanship of Eng. Imad Khamis, Prime Minister, matters relating to the continued merchants and industrialists importing, exporting and foreign exchange trading for foreign commercial operations were clarified in accordance with the controls approved by the Central Bank of Syria.

He asked the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to intensify communication with the chambers in the governorates and prepare a working paper on the obstacles they face and proposals to overcome them in order to study them in the cabinet and take the necessary and mandated to provide a vision about pricing policy and the issuance of the billing system and the application of the electronic payment system and insurance and the commercial registry and it was agreed to prepare a common vision To meet the challenges imposed by the economic war, especially with regard to the needs of citizens and the facilities needed for merchants to import basic materials.

The proposals focused on the necessity of having a clear mechanism for financing imports and financial transfers and intensifying anti-smuggling campaigns and continuing to support export products and the importance of the participation of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in preparing economic decisions and the establishment of a fund to support raw materials that secure the domestic market's need for basic requirements and shadow economy regulation.

The Prime Minister stressed that the main title of the meeting is integration between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the institutions concerned to secure the requirements of the citizen from the basic materials and avoid the consequences of fluctuations in the exchange rate and the provision of goods in the markets, pointing to keenness on the continuous meetings with the unions to develop the mechanism of its work and promote positive steps to restart the production facilities and provide the environment Appropriate for investments.

In response to the participants ’questions, the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Dr. Hazem Qarfoul, mentioned that all decisions related to economic, financial and monetary policy guarantee the continuation of foreign trade movement with all its components, including import and export, explaining that Legislative Decrees 3 and 4 are directed to non-lira dealers with the intention of speculation.

And Jarfoul pointed to work on issuing attractive savings deposits for businessmen soon in parallel with continuing to control exchange companies ’work and providing the necessary foreign exchange for imports.
