The Ministry of the Interior announced that criminal security personnel had seized commercial stores in Damascus to sell electrical appliances and watches whose owners deal in a currency other than the Syrian pound.
The ministry said in a statement that Sana received a copy of it today that these stores were investigated in coordination with the judicial police of the Central Bank of Syria and found bills in which they wrote their transactions other than the lira proving that they sold the goods in US dollars, noting that by investigating the owners of the aforementioned stores they confessed to dealing in other than the lira and transferring the money in a way It is illegal to exchange currencies without a license and to buy and sell goods in foreign currency.
The Ministry indicated that the confiscated amounts were handed over to the Central Bank of Syria in the meantime, while investigations are still ongoing to take the necessary legal measures against them.
