World Federation of Trade Unions Chairman Mzwandel Michael Macquipa affirmed the union's support for Syria, its people and its workers in the face of the terrorist war waged against it.
In a special statement to SANA, Macquayba stated that the union, which includes 92 million members, will work to pressure European governments and the American administration to lift the economic blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
Macquipa pointed out that the Union will take a decision during its conference and presidential council in Paris at the end of next March on the necessity of providing all support to Syria and its people and issues, especially in its fight against terrorism and demands to stop foreign interference in its internal affairs and maintain its sovereignty and independence.
And Macquaiba stated that on the anniversary of its founding at the beginning of last October, the union carried out demonstrations that spread throughout the world to support Syria in its war on terrorism.
A delegation from the World Federation of Trade Unions headed by Maquipa arrived in Damascus today to participate in the twenty-seventh general conference of the General Federation of Trade Unions, which takes place from the 13th to the 16th of February.
