The cry of Pedrito, who walks from here to there in his mother's arms, covers the sound of the angel caller who musicalizes to the rhythm of the light breeze the warm and calm afternoon in the quiet neighborhood of Moreno where Ignacio Piatti returned to live from this Tuesday. Nacho looks weakly at that nice three-month-old baby who was one of the main reasons for his decision to hit Canada's return to settle permanently in Argentina along with his wife and children after almost six years.

He is not very friendly with the interviews, but he is not at all uncomfortable chatting with Clarin in the privacy of his home just a few hours after the first training in his second stage in San Lorenzo, where he shone in the local title of 2013 and It was a key piece to obtain the Copa Libertadores in 2014, the first of Boedo's club.

"When I woke up this morning I was happy to train. I went back to see many well-known people who had been writing to me for a while and told me that they were waiting for me. It was a joy to arrive at the club. I felt that I returned to my house, that comfort is a peace of mind, "describes the footballer who at 35 returned from Montreal Impact.

-Why come back now? You lived in Canada, you were an idol in Montreal, the figure of the team, had a very good contract and you had one more year of bond ... Many think you're crazy.

- Since I left the idea was to be able to re-dress the shirt of San Lorenzo. It was not easy to leave Montreal, I walked very well and they love me a lot there. It was a family matter. We had decided to stay there until this year. With my wife we decided to relocate here because we were going to have Pedro (he was born three months ago). I also have the biggest, Gabriel, 17, who plays in Rosario Central and Lola seven. I thank Montreal, its owner Joey Saputo, because they understood me and gave me the key to my departure. On my side I did everything and resigned a lot of things to be here today.

-The weekend seemed to cool your pass, did you think it was not done?

-I didn't want to get into the negotiation. I let the clubs handle it and my representative, Nazareno Marcollese. The only thing I asked him was to fix things to come to San Lorenzo. I was nervous because I wanted to go back. When everything was done I stayed calm.

-You chose a difficult economic moment in the country to return. There are many who want to go for the dollar issue.

-I know very well what the economic context of the country is and I had no problems on that side. When I left San Lorenzo it was because I wanted to play in a quieter place and discover what MLS was, and obviously to be able to make an economic difference. After five and a half years the thing happens on the other side, it happens for my happiness and for leaving aside the silver issue. I wanted to be in Argentina and wear this shirt. There are things that silver cannot buy. It weighed more on my happiness.

- You have 35 newcomers. How much rope do you have left?

-I saw some comments that said “How are you going to bring this player who is 35 years old!”. But I see that there are several playing in Argentina that are 37, 38 or 39 and are doing very well. There is Maxi Rodríguez in Newell's, Licha López in Racing, Coloccini in San Lorenzo ... I feel very well physically and very well, which is the most important thing. I don't know how much rope I have left, but I'm going to show inside the court.

-What is it like to live in Canada?

-It's very, very quiet. How do I tell you ... There the most popular sport is ice hockey. In the newspapers there are four pages of the NHL and one of football or a bit. I went to see several Canadians games. They have a stadium for 20 thousand people. It is rare when they catch the tubes and the referee does not separate them until one falls. It is a nice sport. And with respect to the rhythm of life, it is very relaxed. I took my daughter to school, I was going to train and nobody bothered me. Then I would pick her up at the exit and go home with my wife. I'm not dating so much. Montreal is one of the best cities in the world, it has a very nice old side, similar to Europe. Pity the cold.

-Would you suffer a lot?

-In winter they do 20 or 30 degrees below zero. There's much snow. At four in the afternoon it is night and it snows full. The cold starts at the end of October and lasts until May. We were going to Orlando and returning at the end of February, so I dodged it a lot.

- Are you from the summer or winter band?

-Summer, ha. Like there, summer is not so hot, 20 or 25 degrees ago.

-What are you going to miss the most from there?

-The tranquility with which one lives. You win a game and they are all happy, you lose and they are also all happy. It's like going to a show at a theater. People will enjoy a show.

-How is an MLS fan?

-There are many Argentines in Montreal and Latinos who follow you. But nothing happens beyond what happens on the court or after the game. They don't cross you on the street. They are not very fanatical. There was a lot of San Lorenzo, yes. They wrote to me these days, I have to send them a shirt.

-Here you keep looking sideways at the MLS. There is the thought that the one who goes there is for money and goes back in sports. Is that so?

-For me it changed a lot. Before the players were going to retire there; Now there are more and more young people who want to start their career there. Almirón went to Atlanta and bought Newcastle. In Vancouver there was a very good one who bought it at Bayern Munich, we had a young man who bought it from Barcelona. Many clubs look at the MLS. He grew a lot.

- Did you watch Argentine soccer from there?

-Yes always. On Sunday I went to the house of a friend, Víctor Bianchi, who is from La Plata and a gymnast fan. We ate roast and watched the games. In Argentine soccer you run much more than in other places and there are no spaces. That is why it is difficult to get in rhythm when one returns. There are many boys who run and get in. It is difficult to return and enter a well-armed group. You have to mentalize.

-In San Lorenzo you have a beautiful competition in the attack with the Romero, Gaich, Uvita Fernández ...

-There are many variants and several boys, there is (Julián) Palacios too. There is a nice competition and I like that. Above all there is a nice human group. I saw a lot of team matches. I came to add to take San Lorenzo to the best place and help the boys of the club so they can be sold at some point. I am available to the technician for when he needs me.

-The next season the Cyclone does not start comfortable on average. Have you analyzed the panorama?

-You have to get the most points. There is a squad to put San Lorenzo where it deserves and not have to fight down. Hopefully this championship ends well and start the Super League Cup and the other season better.

The thorn of the Cup final

Nacho Piatti was key in the team that won the 2014 Libertadores, but went to Canada before playing the final. “It was not easy to decide. I traveled to Montreal to tell the owner to wait for me because I wanted to play the Cup. He said yes. But then the rating did not arrive. I do not forget anymore, the final was on August 13 and on 11 they told me that I would not be there. When I got there, the sports director and the coach took me to a bar to watch the game on a giant screen. I suffered, but when Gordo (Néstor Ortigoza) made the goal we celebrated, ”Piatti recalls.

He says he had that thorn, but he could have the Cup in his hands when he returned to visit his former teammates in October of that year. Choose the agonizing goal against Botafogo as your favorite: “I closed my eyes and kicked. I wanted to put it down and it went up. Luckily he entered, ha. They considered us eliminated. ”

He tells that he is still talking with many of that group. And about the reunion with Sebastián Torrico, the other champion of America that remains in the current squad, highlights: “Torri always asked me when I was going to return. We hugged each other. It is a phenomenon and I love that it is doing well in the arc. He is a beast as a professional and a person. "

Ignacio Piatti and ...

-His relationship with Marcelo Tinelli: "I have a great affection for him and he for me. From the first day we met we had a relationship as if we knew each other before. It helped me a lot. He knew of my desire to return now and did a lot to do so. It's amazing how he transformed the club. Today I saw how the changing rooms and the stadium are. He changed it a lot. We hugged each other and it was very nice to find him again. Hopefully I can help him on the court. "

His friendship with Didier Drogba: "I watched him on TV, I chose him on the Play to play and suddenly he was my attacking partner. He is a monster as a player, but more as a person. We reached the end of the conference with him. We made a good relationship. My son told me he had said goodbye to his networks so I thanked him and told him that I was waiting for him in Argentina.
