Valentine's Day is very important for this family from Hohebrunn: on February 14, Murni Suwetja and Sebastian Myrus became a couple. Her son has a name that always reminds her of it.

Hohenbrunn– "Today is a very special day, do you know why?" Asks four-year-old Valentin with a sly smile that reveals his tooth gap. With shining eyes, he points to a wall calendar, February 14 is pasted with a dozen glittering stars. Today is the boy's name day, but the day is even more important for Valentine's family.

Murni Suwetja (41), Valentine's mother, holds his two-week-old sibling in her arms. Julia sleeps peacefully in a blanket while her brother and his dad Sebastian Myrus (42) set the cake table. "Valentine's Day plays a big role for us," says the freshly baked father of two as he places the forks on the dining table. And his wife explains with a broad grin: "My husband finally realized that we belong together - I already knew it beforehand."

Love call from the airport

The two had known each other five years before they became a couple on Valentine's Day in 2011. "It wasn't actually a typical Valentine's Day date," says Myrus. Because the two Riemerlingers are not fans of pink plush hearts, labeled locks on bridges and the commercialization of February 14th. “We were skiing with friends in Austria nine years ago,” recalls the 42-year-old. After taking his current wife to the airport and boarding her plane to her home country of Holland, he realized that it was more than friendship between the two. "Then I called Murni and asked her the question," says Myrus. It was actually not planned that they would come together on the day of love. "An atypical Valentine's Day story, but a very special one," says Suwetja.

Two years later, the couple married to friends and family from the Netherlands and Germany. This year they both celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary. The couple thinks nothing of the darn seventh year of marriage. The fact that they seem so happy and balanced can also be because the two share a great shared passion. "We are freelance singers," says Murni Suwetja. The two got to know each other in Holland 14 years ago through their common profession. The job as a singer also means that they travel a lot. "We don't have everyday life," says Myrus. The two would not wish for another life either.

On Valentine's Day we are going to Austria again - this time with children

The parents' passion and taste in music seems to have rubbed off a little on little Valentin. While other children of his age listen to “Pumuckl” or “The Little Dragon Coconut”, classical music resounds from the speakers on Valentin's CD player. "His favorites are currently Buena Vista Social Club and Bach's Christmas Oratorio," says Sebastian Myrus. An exclusive taste in music for a four year old. It was actually clear that the son of the two singers was to be Valentin, "says Murni Suwetja. The name means "the strong" or "the healthy". "Even if we had met on another day, Valentin would be called that," says the 41-year-old. "It's just a nice name."

For the couple, celebrating love means consciously spending time with family and friends. The four enjoy their time together to the fullest after Julia's birth. For this year's Valentine's Day, the couple wants to go to Austria again, to the place where the love of the two began. But this time with her two children.
