(CNN Spanish) - Nayib Bukele, the extravagant president of El Salvador, advanced dangerously towards a coup d'etat in his country on Sunday.

The man who declared himself to be the “most handsome and cool president in the world”, took Parliament surrounded by supporters, military and police. He tried to force the majority to approve a loan of US $ 109 million, then under discussion, but since he did not have enough quorum, he retired ... until the next attempt.

Why did he do it? In my opinion, because it perceives itself as a kind of monarch, much smarter than the rest of the Salvadorans, appointed by God to govern at will.

Remember that this man declares himself very believing, although it is not known exactly who or what he is praying to.

Does not matter. According to his statements, that hazy God who inspired the maneuver was the same who advised him to abort it.

For Bukele, the Republic is a permanent discomfort. For him the separation of powers and mutual controls are unnecessary pitfalls.

As he won the elections campaigning, essentially, in the latest social networks, he thinks that this plot of weights and balances is something very old.

Obviously, that will end very badly, in the same way that the absolutist monarchy was eradicated by force from our countries.

Governing is difficult. It requires patience and accepting the dictates of the Constitution. The path taken by Bukele is paved with illegality, poverty for the people and maybe even jail for him.

In 1992 Alberto Fujimori also took Parliament. Many years later he ended up in prison. If Bukele does not rectify the same thing could happen.
