According to government media outlets "Sana" defense systems have managed to bring down some of the missiles. The Syrian State News Agency quoted a senior military official as saying that the attack had come from Israeli territories.

The Syrian Center for Human Rights reported heavy explosions in Damascus and the region. According to information obtained by the center, the blasts are the result of an Israeli bombing on sites belonging to the Iranian militias, including the area between the international airport and the city of Sida Zainab, south of the capital. According to the center, missiles were launched for targets in this area, with some being intercepted by Syrian defense systems.

A military source told "Sana" that at midnight, missiles were launched from the Golan Heights. According to him, as soon as he learned of it, the air defense systems responded and dropped some of the missiles before hitting their targets.

Sources told Al-Arabia that five Israeli attacks were carried out against weapons and missiles at Damascus International Airport. According to the report, one attack was targeted at Brigade 91 sites in al-Qaswa, south of Damascus. The sources also emphasized that the attacks took place several hours after the arrival of Iranian weapons trucks at the international airport.

12 fatalities a week ago

Exactly a week ago, Syrian news agency "Sana" reported operating anti-attack air defense systems in the same airspace. The Arab media reported that Israel carried out the attack from the Golan Heights area. According to Syrian reports, defense systems have been able to intercept some of the missiles launched.

According to the Syrian Center for Human Rights, the bombing has hit Iranian militia sites from the 91st Brigade, in the vicinity of Kassaw township, in the 75th Brigade in the village of al-Makilvia west of Damascus, in the military airport of Maze, and in the Center for Scientific Research in Damascus.

The Syrian center reportedly emphasized that many missiles hit targets, and as a result, fires broke out. It is also claimed that Syrian defense systems intercepted only some of the missiles, but not most of them. Later, the center reported that at least 12 people from the Revolutionary Guards and pro-Iranian militias were killed in the attack.
