In a statement issued by the Syrian army, it was reported that the systems would intercept missiles coming from the Golan Heights. According to the forces, the missiles failed to hit their targets.
According to the Syrian Human Rights Organization, the attack was aimed at an Iranian weapons depot near Damascus Airport. The attack occurs about a week after another attack attributed to Israel against the pro-Iranian militias.

Reports come two days after Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said: "We are constantly working and charging prices from Iran until we reach the ultimate goal: removing Iran from Syria."
