(CNN Spanish) - A canoe carrying at least 35 people was shipwrecked on Friday in the Inambari River, department of Puno, in southern Peru, according to state media, TV Peru.
The state media reported that, according to police reports, the incident so far leaves at least 21 missing, six injured and one person dead.
CNN has unsuccessfully sought to confirm the information directly with local and state authorities.

According to TV Peru, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon (February 14) and most of the occupants were farmers in the area.
At the moment, there is no information on what could have caused the shipwreck.
The search continues on Saturday, according to TV Peru.
