The crime scene is located at the Tempodrom in Möckernstrasse, an event hall in downtown Berlin. The area in the Kreuzberg district was cordoned off after the shots. Lorenz said it could not be said with certainty whether there were multiple offenders or whether there were only one. He or she was still volatile.
The police were deployed with a large contingent, officials with submachine guns secured the scene. The visitors to the event in the Tempodrom were brought out of the building via side and rear exits. Everything was very controlled and without panic, a dpa reporter reported. For the most part, the visitors would not have noticed the events.
A comedy show was presented in the Tempodrom on Friday evening. The victim and the alleged perpetrators were apparently not visitors to the event. According to initial knowledge, the deed is therefore not related to the event.
