The Colombian authorities are investigating whether “El Mugre” , considered the deadliest hitman of the downed drug lord Pablo Escobar, could be living in Spain and serving as a pastor in a church in the region of Murcia.
Luis Carlos Aguilar Gallego would have been seen in June 2017, when the Colombian soccer team played a friendly against Spain in the previous World Cup.
Several Colombian businessmen and sports leaders stayed at the La Finca Golf Resort hotel and, according to the Colombian newspaper 'El Tiempo', a couple of people assured them that Aguilar lived there and that he worked as a pastor in a church.
The Colombian authorities have tried to locate Aguilar and five other gunmen of the Medellin Cartel to provide information on cases still open, such as the bomb to the Avianca plane and against the DAS.
Official Colombian sources confirmed that Aguilar is still alive and that there are informants who say he lives in Spain and Argentina.
"He was abstemious and the boss's most lethal killer. Son of a murdered father and a missing brother," Jhon Jairo Velásquez Vásquez, aka 'Popeye,' recently died a week ago when asked about Aguilar.
Another of the hit men of Pablo Escobar who is still alive is Carlos Mario Alzate Urquijo, alias “ Arete ”, who is now 57 years old and would live in Barcelona.
