Agnès Buzyn, new LREM candidate for mayor of Paris

She was expected at 7:15 p.m. Agnes Buzyn arrived at 8 p.m. in pouring rain ... and thunderous applause from LREM activists and the entire campaign team set up around Benjamin Griveaux. Barely out of Matignon where she had just resigned, the former Minister of Health and new leader of En Marche in the race for mayor of Paris made its first exit as a "candidate" this Sunday evening , in the heart of the 9th arrondissement, for a meeting with campaign teams and the 17 top LREM lists in the capital.

In the Edouard-VII street (pedestrian) where the meeting has been set, the activists have already warmed the atmosphere by chanting "we will win". He welcomed their new candidate with an ovation, who arrived in the company of LREM's boss, Stanislas Guérini, Pierre-Yves Bournazel, head of the list of walkers in the 18th century and Delphine Burkli, outgoing mayor of the 9th century and candidate for his re-election.

No long statements but hugs with the Parisian figures of LREM (from Mounir Mahjoubi to Julien Bargeton but without going through Benjamin Griveaux absent) in the front row to welcome the replacement for the candidate "resigned". Obviously very touched, with a smile, Agnès Buzyn still lets go a few words to the tens of microphones tense to explain her decision to leave the Ministry of Health to embark on the battle of Paris.

“I loved this ministry of the human. But I am empathetic with Paris. I am there, I have lived there all my life, I have worked there, raised my children… ”, said the ex-minister. "I will present my program tomorrow," she adds in response to questions that burst before rushing into the crowd, in a nearby chic cafe (Mon Paris!) Where a party behind closed doors is planned with the campaign teams. For a remotivation session for the troops?

Useless, suggests Stanislas Guérini, who completes the words of Agnès Buzyn. “A few days ago, some wanted to steal the choice of Parisians. But no story is written in advance. And tonight I am happy to be at the side of our new candidate to write a new page in the history of Paris ”, he concluded with applause. “The project set up by Benjamin will not vary The campaign teams either. We change locomotive but we do not change the TGV which was already well launched. "Sums up one of the managers of the campaign staff.
