At least ten people were killed and 41 injured this Sunday, February 16 in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo) by a truck which struck other vehicles and mowed passers-by following a brake problem, according to an initial assessment of the police.

" There are ten dead so far and 41 injured, " said Miguel Bagaya head of the public security department in Kinshasa. Present on the spot, the police officer spoke of a collision of " a large truck against a taxi-bus ", near passers-by. According to testimonies collected, the truck had " a brake problem ," he added.
The dump truck buffered eight vehicles around noon, according to the testimony of a resident, Joseph Enenge, on the UN radio Okapi. " There are more or less 30 dead, " said the witness, a student at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Kinshasa (Unikin), close to the scene of the accident.
